Day of the Dead Cooking Class
Saturday, November 5th
Dos Caminos Park Avenue
One of the most celebrated traditions in Mexico is Day of the Dead. Far from being ghoulish-it is a unique celebration of life, classified as a “masterpiece of culture” by UNESCO. Unique dishes are prepared, and the relatives cook for the enjoyment of their beloved deceased. These culinary offerings are the centerpieces of the altar, which is decorated with photos of the honored family members, candles and cempasuchitl flowers whose fragrance blends with the aroma of burnt copal.
Celebrate “La Dia de los Muertos” at Dos Caminos as Executive Chef Ivy Stark shows you how to recreate this singular holiday with a special celebration of the Mayan Hanal Pixán with dishes from the Yucatan. For $75, the demonstration class includes lunch, cocktails, recipes and a copy of Dos Caminos Tacos featuring recipes from Dos Caminos.
