El Día de los Muertos Cooking Class!

El Día de los Muertos Cooking Class!

One of the most celebrated traditions in Mexico is Day of the Dead, or El Día de los Muertos. Far from being ghoulish, it is a unique celebration of life, classified as a “masterpiece of culture” by UNESCO. Unique dishes are prepared, and the relatives cook for the enjoyment of their beloved deceased. These culinary offerings are the centerpieces of the altar, which is decorated with photos of the honored family members, candles and cempasuchitl flowers whose fragrance blends with the aroma of burnt copal.

Celebrate El Día de los Muertos at Dos Caminos on Park Avenue as Executive Chef Ivy Stark shows you how to recreate this singular holiday with handmade cocktails, guacamole, huitlacoche tamales, beef short ribs in mole negro, candied pumpkin sundaes, and sugar skulls! For $75, the demonstration-style cooking class includes lunch, cocktails, recipes and a copy of Dos Caminos Tacos featuring recipes from Dos Caminos.
